Hanover/Herzogenaurach, June 22, 2023. Leading automotive and industrial supplier Schaeffler relies on the SYNAOS software scale-up as a global digitization partner in the area of intralogistics. Both companies announced this today at the Automotive Logistics Forum in Herzogenaurach. The SYNAOS Intralogistics Management Platform (IMP) will be used by the global Schaeffler Group as part of six projects in France, Germany and Hungary — two of which are already live. The SYNAOS software solution monitors, controls and optimizes intralogistics processes such as transportation with Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV) from various manufacturers.

The SYNAOS IMP is ideal for managing complex intralogistic processes and enables global scaling via the cloud. The SaaS solution grows with the dynamic requirements of customers. Schaeffler's key selection criteria for a central fleet control center included the hardware-independent, technically sophisticated design of the SYNAOS IMP and its diverse range of uses with secure scaling — for example, of mobile robots across multiple locations without providing local server capacity. SYNAOS IMP offers an immediately usable solution for optimizing intralogistics processes at Schaeffler Group locations worldwide. The VDA 5050 communication standard used by Schaeffler is also available through an appropriate interface and multi-version support is integrated. SYNAOS has already successfully implemented two pilot projects at Schaeffler sites in Homburg and Haguenau (France).

Roberto Henkel, Senior Vice President Digitalization & Operations IT at Schaeffler: “For Schaeffler, AGVs are an important part of the autonomization of intralogistics. We are pleased to have a partner at our side in SYNAOS with whom we can further accelerate the global rollout of our fleet.” Within production at Schaeffler, the number of AGVs and autonomous mobile robots will grow significantly over the next few years. For automotive and industrial suppliers, digitization is a key issue in the Roadmap 2025 corporate strategy and the basis for sustainable corporate success.

Wolfgang Hackenberg, founder and CEO of SYNAOS: “Our close partnership with Schaeffler is strong evidence of the maturity of the automation and mobile robotics market. The entire automation and mobile robotics market is currently on the upswing. We are virtually experiencing a technology push. The global cooperation with Schaeffler is a good example of how you can set yourself up for scaling mobile robots in intra-logistics — from less complex scenarios to global rollouts. This is achieved with our solution, which comes 100 percent from the cloud and which only charges for the vehicles that the customer uses.” In the coming year, the SYNAOS IMP will be used at other Schaeffler locations in Europe, North America and China.
