Find out how online retailers and logistics centers are mastering the challenges of individual customer requests and mass returns with more efficient logistics processes in the exclusive professional webinar: “Keeping up with the speed of e-commerce.”
Since the home office trend, I've been seeing how strongly online retail is booming at my own front door. Since I live on the ground floor, I feel like I accept four to five broadcasts for neighbors almost every day. These include boxes with the logos of chain stores, which could be reached on foot in five minutes. Just double the time, i.e. ten minutes, was enough to have an express delivery service leave a tomato or a jar of jam on my doorstep.
On a small scale, this anecdote shows a major industry trend that is drawing the entire federal territory far beyond my delivery district in Hanover. Have everything delivered the same day or even earlier — e-commerce is the “new normal” for consumers. They order more and more often, at short notice and more.
At SYNAOS, it is not only in our advice for logistics clients that this development is both an opportunity and a challenge for e-commerce warehouses. Which side of the coin is turning to you: Is your logistics prepared for this new normal or is the boom overwhelming your current order management?
To make it easier for you to answer this question for yourself, we will address it in a panel discussion with industry experts. We embed the exchange of ideas in a webinar, which you can experience live and free of charge.
These insights about the future of e-commerce warehouses await you
In the exclusive webinar “Keeping up with the speed of e-commerce”, online retailers and warehouse operators learn which core problems the current challenges can be broken down to and how logistics managers solve them. The webinar shows perspectives on how to operate e-commerce warehouses more flexibly and at the same time more cost-effectively so that you can meet booming demand.
In particular, managers of e-commerce companies that operate their logistics in-house benefit from the webinar insights. Anyone with an extensive and diverse product portfolio or complex sales structures is currently particularly challenged. Good advice is just a few clicks away. Because these scenarios are among the main areas of work and interest of our panel discussants.
These industry experts will discuss and answer your questions
In the panel of the “Keeping up with the speed of E-Commerce” webinar, renowned experts with broad-based industry knowledge will discuss the future of logistics centers in online retail.
Christoph Tripp As a professor of distribution and retail logistics at Nuremberg University of Technology, he has many years of practical and consulting experience in the logistics industry. As an expert and trainer, he is in demand, among other things, for his expertise in omni-channel distribution strategies in retail.
Sebastián Borak As a logistics manager and authorized signatory at babymarkt.de, he is literally a specialist for rapid growth. It sheds light on how the company developed from a local hero to Europe's largest online retailer for baby supplies in a short period of time. Having worked as an e-commerce logistics manager for over a decade, Sebastian Borak will contribute his practical experience in successful process management to the panel discussion.
Cäcilie Elgeti As Operations Lead at Connox, makes purchasing, logistics and customer care fit for the future. It provides insights into the practice of the globally active online retailer of designer furniture and home accessories, which not only keeps pace with market requirements, but sets the pace itself.
Maik Siedschlag As a product owner at SYNAOS, he is responsible for the development of a next-generation warehouse control system. The business informatics specialist is convinced that intralogistics has not yet sufficiently explored the opportunities of digitization and that there is still great potential for more efficient processes there. He will also contribute his many years of experience in logistics IT in retail to the panel discussion.
Jörg Ziesmann moderates the panel discussion. The host of the podcast “Something with Logistics” is adept at bringing together different ways of looking at industry trends. As Head of Sales Channels & Partners EMEA at Dematic, he will also contribute his own, broad-based expertise in automation solutions for intralogistics.
